Privacy Policy

2026-08-21

Melmex is built to know as little about you as possible. This policy explains what data the software touches, what it deliberately avoids, and where third parties are involved.

1. What Melmex does not collect

Melmex runs no analytics, no advertising trackers, no behavioural profiling, and no third-party measurement of any kind. No code Melmex ships reports what you look at or what you do inside the app.

The Melmex service does not maintain user accounts or databases of its own, does not store your wallet addresses, transaction history, balances, or preferences on its servers, and never has access to your private keys or recovery material.

2. What stays on your device

Your display preferences (currency, enabled networks), your list of recent recipients, your private transaction notes, and your one-time acknowledgment of the self-custody notices are stored only in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device and are deleted when you clear your browser data.

3. What necessarily passes through servers

To show balances and history, the app requests data about a wallet address from blockchain data providers through the Melmex server, which forwards the request and returns the result. The address travels inside these requests, is processed only in short-lived memory for caching (about a minute), is written to application logs only in a shortened, redacted form, and is not stored in any database. Standard infrastructure providers that carry the request (hosting, networks) may record technical access logs, including IP addresses, under their own policies.

Public blockchains are public: any address’s balances and transactions are globally visible by design, independent of Melmex.

4. Third-party services

Sign-in and embedded wallets: Privy, Inc. processes the login identifier you choose (such as an email address) and wallet-infrastructure data under its own privacy policy. Melmex servers do not receive your login credentials.

The sign-in component loads from Privy’s own servers and, from the moment a page opens, sends that provider its own operational telemetry about the component — before and independently of any sign-in. It is the provider’s telemetry about its own software, not measurement of you by Melmex, and it is governed by Privy’s privacy policy.

Market data and routing: Alchemy (blockchain data), CoinGecko and DefiLlama (prices), and 0x (swap routing) receive the technical parameters needed to answer each request. Wallet connections via WalletConnect involve its relay infrastructure, and the list of connectable wallets is fetched from WalletConnect when the sign-in component initialises.

5. Your rights

Because the Melmex service keeps no personal-data store, there is usually nothing for it to access, correct, or erase — your on-device data is under your direct control, and third-party processors handle rights requests for the data they hold.

If you believe Melmex holds personal data about you, or for any privacy question, contact support@melmex.io. If you are in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
